Its like your courage and flexibility of you brain working through trail and error are being tested i guess?
When there is a hard puzzle, you try to solve it one piece at a time and its like" there's no way this goes here.oh! The switch moved. YES. I'm pretty smart!" kinda like that
I learned that you have to try everything if you want to figure stuff out.

やってみないとわかんない- you got to try to find out(or you wont know anything)
色々試行錯誤してみよう- trying things out (trial and error)
試される- tested
一個づつの謎を解いて- figuring out the puzzle one piece at a time
